Talking about a RARE find!

Hidden away in plain sight, located in New Heights Houston, and marketed as a dessert store, Red Dessert Dive was an incredible find for coffee poops.

Walking into this book nook of a store, you’re guaranteed to be greeted with a pleasant aroma of fresh baked cupcakes. During my stay there, the smell of cinnamon and cake from their first reveal of the oven door fills the room every hour.

The atmosphere of the store gives a cozy, indie feel. As if it’s saying, “We like to make cupcakes and we’d like you to enjoy it here if you can.” Which I certainly did.

They have many other baked sweets despite my obvious focus on the cupcakes. Muffins and cookies are certainly worth a try, but the cupcakes, bless the cupcakes. It’s made very simply in terms of the format, cake at the bottom and a nice dollop of piped icing on top, not spread, and the size is what I would argue to be the default size of any reasonable person’s imagination. Let’s just say it does not need to use its size to add a level of quirkiness to it. Even better, at the last hour of the store's operation, the cupcakes are buy one get one!

The working conditions are exceptional. Outlets were easy to find, the internet was provided indefinitely, and seating was always available. Because most people come and go as bakery customers would, I don’t see it as a potential problem going forward.

Coffee Poop

Bathroom-wise, it’s a single private unisex room with a decent lock. Maximum privacy sure, but number two suspects would be easy to identify.

Puns and comments aside. Parking might be the only challenge to your visit here.

Go visit, eat lots of cupcakes, drink the coffee, and poop there.

To get the elephant out of the room, yes it’s been some time since the last post.

Short answer is my business has shifted and picked up tremendously since the last update. I hope for my 10s of readers' forgiveness.

Detouring from a canceled meeting today, I visited a coffee shop that was too full to work at and was diverted to Simply Coffie. Parking was not difficult.

Honestly, it was a blessing in disguise and encouraged me so much to update the blog. So in respect to their name, for the rest of the blog coffee will be referred to as “coffie”.

First thing to note, there is a huge array of coffie selection at this simple shotgun style “coffie” shop. They offer auctioned coffie at market price in addition to the high quality coffie from coffie hotspots around the world such as Africa and South America.

Having a coffie blog, I am ashamed to admit when the barista replied with, “what kind of flavor do you like in your coffie?”, I was stunted in the conversation. Thoughts ran wild, “do I have free reign on my reply like with wine? Dry and hints of fruity flavors? Or are there specific categories to coffie flavors?”. Admitting defeat I said “No clue.” with a laugh. He then kindly offered me the African coffie as an entry level choice that I can neither spell nor pronounce.

He was correct, it was “delicious” (visit to find out why this is in quotation).

The two baristas were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable but taciturn, yet still had an ominous connection between them. I would assume that they are a husband and wife duo. If not, they probably should be.

In conclusion, full marks for the coffie and the big jawed animals on the counter.

BUT WAIT, THE COFFIE POOP THOUGH?

Keeping it short and stout, this place is what it's all about.

This is by the far best coffie poop location I have ever been to.

I’m talking private rooms, Charmin toilet paper, herbal fresheners, and high quality soap to use at your leisure. I cannot stop smelling my hands even as I am writing this.

Top of the charts, my new favorite location and a must visit if you’re ever in Houston.

This one caught me off guard. Running late to a meeting, I arrived at Forth and Nomad thinking it was a coffee shop. But to my surprise, when I opened the door, I thought I had walked into a clothing and trinkets store instead.

Forth and Nomad is a clothing & accessories store that has a built-in coffee bar. During my visit, I found that most visitors were there for the coffee and browsed the store as a result of not knowing it was located in a clothing store. One of those all white and beige clothing stores.

The internet was great and the outlets are accessible but the seats are very limited. Imagine an airport Starbucks that’s attached to the bookstore. Now dial up the Live Laugh Love meter by 1000% and you have arrived at Forth and Nomad.

Jokes aside, the store is actually really nice with high quality clothing and interesting accessories for both male and female. But predominantly for girls.

Lastly, the coffee has a better quality than the franchise ingredients but didn’t particularly stand out to me.

Coffee Poop
The poop though, was exquisite.

It was a single private bathroom with tile all around, all beige of course, with a cute toilet in the center. Additionally, taking a coffee poop here feels like a guilty pleasure, and when you’re done, it feels as if your sense of elegance has increased by 5.

So definitely recommend a visit and increase your stats!

Located on the north side of the greater heights, I visited Tenfold Coffee Company several times this week out of convenience for my clients.

I found the atmosphere to be relaxed, filled with productive workers, and have great bum hospitality if you know what I mean. My meetings with my clients went smoothly and uninterrupted, what better can you ask for.

In terms of production, the internet was great however the outlets are limited to the large community table or tall tables. Personally, I was not a fan of the stools for the tall tables however, the booth seats did not offer outlets. Quite a predicament.

The coffee choices are incredibly common with no specialty coffee, but the flavor is more prominent than the average cup. I suspect it's mainly from the fresh roasted coffee beans that they do inhouse.

Coffee Poop
When it comes to the restrooms, it’s top quality. The rooms are spacious and completely isolated from the rest of the coffee shop. Always in good sanitary condition and never failed my expectations. 10/10 should poop here.

Surprisingly good coffee poop at a quick coffee stop around the corner!

Ran into a local coffee shop in a hurry this week after a networking event called Grinders Coffee Bar. An interesting place that offers quality coffee and a CBD apothecary.

During my visit, I was entertained by the conversation between the baristas and apothecary employees, discussing quality chisme.

Which is at least a +3 modifier to any establishment.

The shop itself is smaller than your typical gas station corner store, but the design was captivating and the separation of the two services were well distinguished yet compatible. The coffee had great quality and the apothecary goods were well displayed.

Productivity at the shop however, can be challenging. The seats are very limited due to the small space and outlets are not always available. The front half of the shop where the coffee is offered is prone to the Texas heat. But it seems that they were aware of the fact since they have a wall AC unit pointed directly in that direction. Unfortunately though, it was in vain. I still had to relocate from the coffee half of the shop to the apothecary half, where its cooler and had better bar seating with outlets.

With that said though, the internet was stable and I was still able to hop on a zoom call just outside of the glass wall.

Coffee Poop

Finally, the main topic. The coffee poop was surprisingly good! For a coffee shop that seems to be targeting patrons who are on the go, they have quality coffee poop. They provide private bathrooms with quality ass scrolls for you to write on without worry or discomfort. A round of applause is much deserved.

I highly recommend a visit for those who are interested in CBD or hemp alternatives to visit and grab a cup of coffee while you browse.

Going on a bit of a drive up north this week, I arrived at Barbarossa Coffee Roasters. A large coffee shop that was filled with eccentric people.

I describe the people as eccentric because sure there were a few people just on their laptops that you would commonly see, but there were also 3 or 4 people who had way too many non textbooks stacked at their tableside like they’re studying at the magic academy.

The barista was a screenwriter.

Followed by a gentleman who seems to not be able to sit still and roams around the shop with a book in hand. Lastly, there was an intense chess match happening at the center of the shop which I became increasingly curious about as it went on.

I do want to clarify, this experience is purely from my first and only impression. Personally, I love eccentric people and I cannot guarantee such good luck if you do visit.

The staff was incredibly helpful and easy to talk to. I had gotten the snicker latte, somewhat out of my character to sweet lattes but the barista had taken my concerns into consideration and made adjustments to my liking. Bonus points to him!

There were many working spaces available and a slightly quieter section towards the restroom area with a provided printer. Shown in the pictures!

The outlets can be found scattered throughout the shop but the one I was located at did not function. So I cannot say for certain the productivity of each seating location in terms of outlet functionality. This shop is a cluster of randomness and a roll of the dice.

Now for the main course, the restroom consist of 2 unisex private bathrooms that was filled with commodities! The restrooms are tucked away in the back of the coffee shop, each are spacious and cute in design.

Kind of a boy-cute if you know what I mean.

Not unlike a boy would have a racecar for a bed, the bathrooms are what that same boy would have for his half bath. Pleasant experience all around!

Not usually a fan of the Chinatown coffee houses due to the overcrowding and overlooked bathroom quality but this week I decided to give BLKDOG Coffee a try from word of mouth suggestions. Major ragret.

The coffee shop was smaller than expected, narrow and long. The designs are soft and elegant but did not stand out to me to make an impression. It contains the feel of a model apartment floor plan you’d visit or the aesthetics of “live laugh love” if you know what I mean.

The workability is reasonable, a stable internet with outlets available at most places but majority of them are located between tables. I would say a 40% chance of social interaction will be needed if you need an outlet.

The coffee options were acceptable but relatively mediocre, (I had a cinnamon sugar coffee that was grainier than I would’ve liked) however they do have a great variety of tea options that stood out. Unfortunately though, this isn’t a tea poop blog.

The bathroom was plenty nice for a private restroom, one for each male and female. However, being a professional ranker of coffee poops I have noticed a trend of Chinatown coffee shops that I cannot stand.

Coffee Poop
Number one being the temperature drop when entering the bathrooms. I do not understand why there exists a common issue of feeling like you are stepping out the door in a February Houston Texas when you go to the restrooms in Chinatown. I should not have to take a jacket with me to take a coffee poop because we all know it increases the difficulty of cleaning by tenfold.

Secondly is the sensor based flushing system. This is fairly self explanatory so I’ll keep it short, nobody likes a surprise bidet using their own fluids.

Lastly, the killer of all, hubba bubba style toilet paper.

This trend for bathroom design in the Houston Chinatown needs to be revamped just as China did back in the 1950s with industrialization. Currently, there are just too much copy paste of low quality design. I hope they quickly learn from other businesses and take coffee poops as a more serious concern. But deep down I know it is nothing but a dream.

Black Rock Coffee Bar is honestly one of the first coffee shops I visited that had given me the idea of starting this blog. It all began when I had my coffee poop here and it somehow transcended my experience compared to a previously awful experience elsewhere.

The atmosphere at this coffee shop is a bit of a roll of the dice in my opinion though.

I say this because from the many times I have visited, the patrons here have been a wide variety of either a large group of elderly people or young college students.

It’s almost as if the two demographics are battling for this territory and the mix is odd to say the least.

A short side story, during my recent visit, I was confronted by a man outside of the shop as I walked up. (visible in the picture) My involuntary stereotyping assumed that he was a veteran by his demeanor and tone of voice. He was offended and paranoid by the fact that I had taken a picture of him. He later explained he had extreme anxiety and felt everyone was monitoring him, but things were quickly smoothed over when he realized my photos are for a blog and it’s named “coffee poop”. It was an interesting encounter and I wished I had more time to listen to his stories.

Any who, I would like to give a fair warning to everyone that the shop is kept at a frosty temp of what I imagine the state of Michigan would feel like on my Texan skin. The bottled beverages are kept in an open display cooler which I suspect does not need to be plugged in. So do bring a coat or two or it may be intolerable.

In regards to productivity, the internet speed is great. However, the amount of outlets available is exactly 3 pairs in total, all located on the far wall. Choices for the outlets are soda, chair, or stool. That being said though, I’ve never had any issue moving to an available outlet when needed. It is just way too cold for any unprepared visitor to tolerate for more than an hour.

Coffee options are your typical choices with a few featured drinks on the sweeter side. The Iced Caramel Blondie was great but only because I was prepared for the indoor ice age. I imagine it would bring others physical pain or internal frostbite.

Coffee Poop
Finally, the coffee poops. It may be a biased review but the coffee poops here were particularly memorable for me as it had sparked an interest for this blog. The toilet paper is a standard 2 ply but texture-less. However, the restrooms are spacious enough to perhaps add a bonfire at a safe distance to recover from the frostbite. Food for thought Black Rock.

Hearing great things about this place, I decided to visit Retrospect during what felt like a heat surge in Houston. As I walked up to the store, licked by the sun, my jaw dropped as I soon came to realize the entire gimmick of the coffee shop is that 100% of the seating is outdoor. At that very moment, I felt a deep regret about my prima vista style of visiting coffee shops.

First impression of the design gives a unique picnic vibe. From my experience the visitors are mostly of the younger crowd with a few passerby joggers. Many are there to study, read, or meet up with people. But we were mostly sweating.

There are actually many seating options, covering the front, side, and the back. The front of the store has an awning with fans, the side has a few picnic tables, while the back has a large tent set up with picnic tables under it as well. That being said though, there are only about 6 fans in total.

The outlet availability is about as scarce as the number of fans the shop provides. Then there’s the internet, which was only as stable as my melting mental fortitude at the time.

The highlight of the visit however was the food and coffee. The savory crepe in combination with the cafe de olla was spectacular. It was such a light and delightful crepe paired perfectly with a rich balsamic glaze. I would definitely revisit the store when the temperature drops again for the food and drink to-go.

Now to the meat and potatoes. Walking into the bathroom in combination with the blistering heat felt like an isolated indoor restroom you would find by the beach after slapping on a dry shirt on sweaty skin, then swimming into oven baked humid air that was cooked within the walls.

Interestingly though, the classic public park style toilet paper along with the humidity level reminded me of a fond childhood memory about a goldfish catching game I used to play at the night markets in Taiwan. The target of the game is to catch goldfish using a circular paper net that disintegrates back into paper pulp. Imagine a magnifying glass but the center is self destructing paper instead of glass. It was incredibly fun and a must try experience to have if you guys decide to visit Taiwan. Despicable to have found it here being used as toilet paper though.

Located at the center of Houston downtown, Day 6 Coffee Co. is a mixture of modern and historical design with a straightforward coffee selection. Walking into the shop, the first impression from the high ceiling with the long and narrow floor space immediately reminds you of the classic downtown layout. The suspended plants hanging from the ceiling and the paintings on the wall give an urban and unique atmosphere in the store.

According a patron I had interacted with, the paintings are up for sale and he plans to purchase one before he leaves the store. It was an interesting abstract painting of a crying strawberry humanoid with vibrant colors. An unique taste but I can see how he was drawn to it.

The customers and employees from my impression are of a younger crowd, ranging from people in their 20s to 30s. The table space is giant, each capable of seating 4 customers with additional seating outside, on the bar, couches, and a secret back room with books and board games. Each table has its own outlet close by and the internet is unlimited and consistent. Major points to the productivity points for the review.

The bar takes up more than a quarter of the store, serving beer, wine, and the staple coffee products. Food items include classic baked goods such as kolaches, cookies, and quiches. The coffee quality is fairly average, enough to cease your coffee craving. My experience with the warm oatmeal raisin cookie was also average, a solid 6 out of 10.

The only drawback I noticed is the location, although I didn’t have any trouble, parking can be difficult. Metered city parking was roughly 2.25 per hour, free after 6 pm. The space was crowded at times, so seating may be a roll of the dice.

Coffee Poop

Now to the main topic, the bathroom experience is immaculate. It was honestly beyond my expectations because older in-city buildings tend to have outdated bathrooms, however Day 6 has redesigned and used it to their advantage.

The bathrooms consist of 2 private bathrooms after walking down a long hallway displaying unique paintings. The design is modern but with original brick accents, enhancing the coffee poop experience along with their exceptional choice of toilet paper. The first bathroom is big enough to conduct a whole yoga routine and clean enough to end in shavasana. While the other bathroom is literally big enough to bring your instructor with you! A well deserved chef’s kiss.

Truly a must visit experience to have!

Timing is key! Franchise location you WILL have difficulties working on a table if you visit after 12pm.

I don’t often go to franchised coffee houses but this week I was thoroughly impressed when I visited Tom N Toms at the Bellaire location.

The atmosphere was great for studying, the positioning of the seats allowed workers to be against the walls while the social gatherings were located in the center of the shop. This reduces a lot of the noise levels and I was still able to concentrate on my work. The outlets are readily available for each table located against the walls so there is no need for social interactions!

The food is great and coffee has a unique full texture. Earthy and warm-body feel. Less bitter than average in my opinion.

The internet was free and not limited by time, another plus in my book. The speed was decent and I only had a slight hiccup when connecting to it. So overall, there weren't any major limitations.

But here is the big HOWEVER. Tom N Toms is located at arguably the MOST crowded location within Houston’s chinatown. Unless you visit before noon to capture a working location with a table and outlet, the shop is nearly fully packed the entirety of the day. This also means that the parking can become aggravating if you visit later in the day as well.

Lastly the bathrooms are well designed and clean but they unfortunately use a giant roll dispenser. Not the low quality type, but there is no particular texture or any satisfaction. The typical rolls you may find at a Target but not at Walmart or a public park if you know what I mean.

Hold the urge to coffee poop during Pilates? Challenge Accepted.

A quick post today about Duo, since I am here right now and didn’t realize they close at 5 pm. I hope I make it in time.

DUO Houston is a coffee and pilates studio with a mixed feel of a clean and modern look with highlights of nature. The location is urban and busy but with parking located across the street. The productivity here is unlimited by the internet, however getting an outlet may have to be fought for.

It seems to attract a younger crowd with private schools and educational facilities nearby. The atmosphere is calming and designed for small meets ups to grab a coffee. Chatter is minimal as well so studying should not be an issue.

The bathroom is divided with the males side having a urinal and a stall, which is typically a deducted point in my surveys but not at DUO. The cleanliness of the restroom is unbelievably spotless and the stall is not positioned in eyes view through the crevice. Not your typical direct positioning of the toilet as the enemy behind the door in a splinter cell game. Toilet paper is exceptional with spares.

Pro tip before coming here however, bring a jacket.

Hidden gem tucked away in plain sight!

While driving down a small one way road after a short business meeting on Wednesday, I spotted a hidden gem out of the corner of my eye. Similar to one of my top favorites, EQ Heights, Compesino Coffee House is a converted residential house with a great home-style vibe filled with great seating for productive workers. The living room and the room beside it are my favorite seating places. The environment is almost entirely random. Krull was playing on the living room TV during my last visit and beside me were two friends discussing their new relationships. While across from me were two elder ladies playing dominoes. Majority of the seatings are for 1 to 2 people with available outlets mostly within an arm’s reach.

The menu is heavily South American influenced, with their coffee beans strictly originating from Mexico, and central/south america. My favorite being the horchata ice latte. The cinnamon and latte combination brings out a new perfective to my latte experience. While their other items such as the Maya Mocha Latte and Cafe De Olla also brings out a unique coffee profile I have yet to experience.

Parking hasn’t been an issue since the times I have visited but it is limited compared to the capacity of people it can hold. However if you do intend on coming in a group, setting may be challenging since tables are mostly for small groups of 2. There are 3 possible locations for groups inside, otherwise the outside seating will be a great option if you decide to come on a clear day.

The Internet and productivity is amazing. I was worried when the barista had told me the wifi password will be given through the receipt, but to my surprise it was more or less a permanent password that I have used in separate visits. Both visits are over the duration of an hour.

Lastly, the restroom is a private bathroom, one for each male and female. They are clean and fit in with the style of the shop. However, much to my disappointment, they use the typical large rolling toilet paper dispenser. A 2 ply paper thin enough to play a film with proper imagery. To my conclusion, Compesino Coffee House is a true hidden gem with a speck of dust trapped within.

Happy Good Friday everyone!

While on the road this week, I stumbled upon this coffee shop during an emergency work situation. I needed immediate working space and I knew the work was going to take roughly 5 hours. As I walked in, I noticed the only employee present with a 5 person line. The shop was quiet and most patrons were on their computers or reading a book. “A bit of an older crowd”, I thought to myself. The location looked like it was in the center of an older neighborhood with many pedestrians. As I got to the line, I was met with great service but was given a generated Wi-Fi code. As a novice coffee shop nomad, I knew there was about to be a mandatory hourly break between my work and additional stress to make sure things are saved before times are up. Hourly Wi-Fi usage is a bane to recurring working customers in my opinion. Additionally, the seating in the shop is in small groups, mostly tables for 1 to 2 people and outlet access is satisfactory. Which gives me the impression they want people to stay for productive work, but require hourly purchases. I understand this strategy but can’t help but be somewhat repulsed by it, especially in that situation.

As the hours went by, I was hard kicked from the Wi-Fi and of course had to go up to make a purchase. Luckily though, the employee informed me that I can request for the new code without purchase. I kindly acknowledged but still made a purchase for the code purely in spite of this system and would have felt defeated if I had gotten the code for free, because then it would mean this hourly expulsion had no purpose to exist in the first place. I decided that was not a world I wanted to live in.

My first trip to the restroom was somewhat devastating to me. The floor was lined with old school penny glossed floors. A major trypophobia warning for those visiting. My main issue with the outdated flooring is that you cannot tell the cleanliness of it. Which is a major trigger for me personally. The toilet paper was 2 ply but one of those thin ones that reminded me of that time when Mickey Mouse was poor and had to slice the bread really thin.

Overall, the coffee shop has a unique vibe and felt kind of old school in an unintentional way. Would be a great visit for a quick meet ups and reading with small groups. Even better place if you don't mind the hourly Wi-Fi limit and free from trypophobia.

4 Floors to explore, each floor with its own appeal!

If you want to see the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shop with some history, Coffee House West End is the place to go. Walking into the shop, for some reason, gives me Harry Potter vibes. The interior design toys with a mix of the new and the old. The old table lamps, wall paintings, and bookshelves emulate the feeling you're in an old library. Additionally, the wooden beams and structures with its rustic black metallic supports give the elegance of the bank run by elves.

The predictability of the place is simply awesome. The building consists of 4 floors. Second floor is a mezzanine to the first floor. These two areas have the vibe I described above. They are usually filled with light chatter and multitude of people. The third floor in my experience is filled with quiet working people. Noise levels are low and decorations are moderate. This is where you would go to get your work done and maybe meet in groups since it is the most spacious of the floors. The fourth floor is the rooftop. Unfortunately, I missed my chance to take a picture since it is now under construction, but from my experience it is a light hearted place for people to socialize and meet.

The restrooms differ depending on the floor, almost exactly as I described with each floor. First and second floors share a restroom with a single stall toilet and urinal, meant for the people visiting to socialize. However, if you explore further to the third floor, as a real pilgrim of coffee shops, you will be rewarded with two large private restrooms big enough to do yoga for two.

Overall, the experience is great, however there are major takeaways. Even though I never had real deterring issues finding a place to work, it does take effort to look for a decent table space going through all the floors. Plugs are not always available, so if you have a short battery life on your laptop due to constant overcharging, you will need to always be on the hunt. Another factor that I considered to be an issue is the hours of operation. The coffee shop is located next to a church and from what I have heard, the business closes around 6pm due to church gatherings. I’m not sure if that means the church members gather in the shop using shared space or if they have a deal made to vacate the vicinity for the church for parking space. Which brings me to my last complaint using this perfect segway. Parking can be problematic. The parking lot is small and neighborhood parking can be a decent walking distance, comparable to parking across a Target parking lot.

With all this being said though, I recommend it as a great visiting experience, maybe to grab a coffee with an old friend or a first date exploration experience. Exploring the shop will undoubtedly be a topic of the conversation for the day.

Happy Friday everyone!

This week I may have found the most amazing place to study and get some work done. Brass Tacks is a coffee and bar paradise filled with eye-catching interior design and plants that you can take off the shelf and take home with you.

The drinks they have are unique and food is beyond exceptional. My personal favorites are the black bean hummus plate that they make in house and the Butterfly Pee Lemonade. It’s a purple lemonade with bug pee. Butterfly pee stimulate your nervous systems allowing you to get faster response and lets your body produce higher concentrations of diopilopine so you can get better idea of I have no idea what I am talking about, April fools. I did not question any further after I heard Butterfly Pee but just get it, it’s amazing.

The drinks are affordable as if they specifically target college students. There are open tables with mixed themes and what I would describe as open wall cubicles and small personal booths located above the crowd. Since I had a busy week, I spent about 4 days this week ending the night at Brass Tacks. The internet has never been an issue and outlets are absolutely littered everywhere. Even on the floor, for tables located at the center of the store.

The atmosphere is interesting to say the least.

The staff are all outspoken and personable. While the customers are a mix of desperate knowledge cramming college students and remotely working millennials grabbing a quick bite with a cup of coffee. When the sun sets, the place is filled with dates or soon to be couples. One common trait I have noticed is that the patrons all appear to come dressed to impress, unlike other coffee shops I have been to. So rest assured, Brass Tacks provides a turnkey solution for your instagram boomerang with background extras.

The restrooms are immaculate.

Although I am certain the two layouts are mirrors of one another, the men’s side consists of a common area and 2 private bathrooms, no urinals. To clarify, yes, private Buc-ee's style bathrooms. My first response when I walked in was if I had made the grave mistake of misidentifying the gender of the sign. But no, Brass Tacks had impressed me yet again. The two rooms, one big and one small, seem to automatically register in my male brain that the big room with the fern is the designated poop room. An absolute chef's kiss in my opinion. “A true work of interior design to affect human psychology”, I thought as I walked in and not surprised in the least as I pinch onto a soft square textured 2 ply toilet paper.

So the drawback of this amazing business is of course its parking and capacity. Brass Tacks is always busy and filled with people. Seats can be difficult to find and parking is scarce. However, out of the 7 times I have been here, I did not have difficulty finding a parking spot too far or a vacant table. But do keep in mind that I am only 1 person. Last complaint I have is that almost feels like it was done purposely, the internet does not reach the outside.

In conclusion, this place is my top 3 must visit coffee shop in Houston without a doubt. It’s great for dates, nice atmosphere to study, and has great internet for work. If you read this blog, plan a trip within 7 days to go visit now!

My Pocket Pick For Coffee In The Heights, Houston

Hello Everyone,

To Start off the blog, I like to introduce everyone to EQ Heights. A Coffee shop that is quite literally a converted home on Heights Blvd.

The vibe at EQ is gentle and calm. Reminds me of a cafe in NJ recommended from our friends at Central NJ Business Media . The couches and living room space are mostly filled with quiet readers while table seats are often occupied by silent workers. The regulars are mature and easygoing. From the numerous times I have visited, I never had to worry about the noise, lack of outlets, or most important of all, the restroom.

The food and snacks at EQ are affordable even for the average grade-student. From the pictures you see, the cost of the food run between $5 to $9, my favorite avocado toast with fruits is $5. Insane. If you would like to try, my it is the Hawaiian Sunrise, replacing the cream cheese with a jelly of your choice. Fruit selection are left to the chef's choice but I have never been disappointed. I really hope my readers and myself visit back to this post to try it.

Now we cant all be perfect. There are a few drawbacks to the humble house of EQ Heights. The parking is scarce and difficult to navigate. Largely because it is a converted residential home, the parking is literally the front and back yard of the house. Navigation is difficult as you have to leave the back parking lot through a narrow gravel road from the backyard. Alternative parking will be within the neighborhoods in the back, thankfully though, the heights area invest a great deal of attention to make becoming a pedestrian an actual life decision.
